Every WordPress site you develop and/or design requires maintenance.  Maintenance needs time to be completed, time that you can’t use building new websites or developing your business.  Did you know that every WordPress website you build will need around 30 – 40 minutes per month spent on maintenance (just 10 minutes a week) – that’s just carrying out the updates and checking things like backups etc.  So for every 20 websites you manage you will loose a day’s development work per month.

We all know that updating and maintaining a WordPress website is a relatively easy, boring, mundane job, you login, click updates and click update.  Wait a few minutes and then job is done and on to the next site.  But, as we all know updates can cause issues, no plugin developer can test every combination of plugins so there could be issues.  We know we’ve come across them – things like a filter plugin stopping pages from being indexed.   That’s why we update each site checking after the updates are applied to mitigate issues, we also check that the backup has run prior to doing any work.  If things don’t work right we just roll back.  Now if this is something you are doing in-house that will take you away from your high value work, working on a new website or growing your business.

That is why we believe it is a simple call to make.  Yes there is a charge for the service we provide, but as we are not developers or designers so we’re not offering any additional services our pricing is very competitive allowing you to charge your clients a modest fee and still make a profit.
